Robocraft: Unleashed – Full Patch Notes

ROBOCRAFT

Unleashed: Freedom Engaged

Full Patch Notes

SUMMARY

After many discussions with the Robocraft community, Robocraft: Unleashed arrives to address some of the core concerns and unlock Maximum Freedom for robot building and fighting.  Completely overhauling the progression and match-making systems within the game. All previous restrictions have been removed, no more Tier CPU caps, no more Tier minimum armor requirements, no more overtier restrictions, in fact no more Tiers at all. Total freedom allows you to build whatever Robot you want and new match-making will ensure you play versus Robots of an equivalent power taking into consideration your Player Level too.

The update is still on track for tomorrow! Tuesday, 28th!

MAXIMUM FREEDOM

The Robocraft community spoke and Freejam went into action removing all the restrictions and limits from the game and adding in it’s place Maximum Freedom with a brand new match-making system.

  • Maximum Freedom, just build whatever you want and take it into battle
  • Completely new match-making using Robot Ranking and Player Level
  • Armor restrictions lifted completely
  • Tier CPU caps lifted completely
  • Overtier restrictions lifted completely
  • Brand new Robot Ranking gauge, with pizazz!
  • Platoons now match-made based on (just above) the average Robot Ranking between the smallest and the largest Robot Ranking in the platoon
  • RP rewards are now based on your performance in battle and the Robot Ranking of your Robot

Small Print:

> NB: Robot Ranking re-balanced on all cubes to assist ‘match-maker’ to match Robots more equally

> NB: T1 changed to Mk1 in names of all functional and armor cubes

NEW PROGRESSION SYSTEM

An overhauled, simplified progression system based on Player Level.

  • New components are unlocked each time you gain a new Player Level
  • Use the Tech Tree to see which cubes will unlock next
  • Brand new ‘Leveled Up’ animation pops-up to show you the cubes you’ve just unlocked
  • No more ‘Tier locked’ TP, Uber TP, in fact no more TP
  • “NEW” Stamp in Cube Depot shows cubes you have unlocked but never owned
  • Chat ‘tag’ now shows Player Level as opposed to ‘Tier’

Small Print:

> NB: Players who have unspent TP will have it converted into RP (different amounts depending on Tier)

> NB: Players who have unspent Uber TP will have it reimbursed to GC

> NB: Players who have cubes unlocked, but have not reached the correct Player Level yet will get their Player Level increased to meet maximum unlocked cube

> NB: Soon ‘Rank’ will also be shown in the chat tag

NEW MAP

Brand new 3rd in the series Ice Map. A completely new map design technique used for this with lots of design input and testing ahead of the launch to make this hopefully our best loved map.

  • Symmetrical for both teams
  • Flatter less bumpy terrain
  • Lots of pillar-like cover for robots of any size
  • Huge set piece dam feature, split play level for fliers
  • All maps now have flatter and less bumpy (noisy) terrain so it’s easier and more fun to drive on

Small Print:

> This will be the last map on the Ice Planet for a while, we’ll begin a new ‘Lava’ planet next

OTHER BIG IMPROVEMENTS

Many other huge improvements to the game:

  • Hover Blades completely reworked from the ground up (stay upright more often, landing like a ‘cat’ most of the time, more stable turning, even when tons of Thrusters added, less air-braking, faster, Thrusters make more of a difference to the speed).
  • New ‘mouse driven’ BUILD-DRIVE-FIGHT user interface
  • New Enter Battle dialogue featuring the Hexagonal Robocraft branding
  • Game modes renamed: Battle Arena, Boss Fight, Team Deathmatch
  • Boss Fight is Challenge Mode and Megaboss Battle combined
  • Boss Fight match-makes based on the player’s choosing this mode only (so no more getting dragged into a Challenge Match when you’re waiting for a Team Deathmatch game)
  • All game modes given equal billing on the selection screen
  • Brand new Lobby screen, cleaner look
  • Added an ‘Add Friend’ button on the Battle Stats screen at the end of a battle
  • You can now chat during the Battle Stats screen at the end of a battle
  • You can use Numpad + and Numpad – keys in Test Robot mode to test the Overclocker at different levels
  • The Enter key now works for all in game text fields, i.e. you can now enter password and just hit Enter to log in
  • New high ranked Overwolf combo Walker-Copter for Megajumps, available at 70% off via MadOrc from the 28th July
  • Install Curse Voice and follow instructions to get 2x free Curse Voice holo flags and 1 day Premium

Small Print:

> With Hovers reworked, Wheels are next to get some love, so expect great things from wheels in an update coming soon.
